Quinette Gallay won the tender to refurbish the Mogador theatre seats after a consultation in January.
The project was carried out over 3 months: from June to August. All working towards the compulsory reopening of the theatre on the 15th of September for the premiere of the famous musical: ‘Grease’.
A specially redesigned seat focusing on comfort for the Mogador theatre
Basing ourselves on the Molière Seat design, the Quinette Gallay team worked designed a tailor-made seat for the Mogador theatre.
We concentrated on improving the comfort aspect of the seat for this project. The objective of Quinette Gallay was to offer the same comfort to all 1600 spectators; this was a real challenge, especially due to the complexity of surfaces on which the seats were to be mounted. The foot heights were thus adjusted for each seat to match the harmony of the theatre. The tilt of the arm rests was redesigned and adjusted.
250 headrests were customised by Quinette Gallay’s embroiderers and then added to gold square VIP seats.
A fruitful collaboration between the client, the architect and Quinette Gallay
The technical and time constraints of this project required strong devotion on behalf of the 3 parties: Stage Entertainment with the executive producer Eric Loustau-Carrere, who solely steered the reopening of the Mogador theatre, the company A7 Ingénierie with the architect Jean Louis Sallé, known for mastering complex projects such as Mogador and Quinette Gallay, who met the deadline for the design, development and installation of the 1600 seats.
